2008
Summer Championship
Whistler, Canada

Rich Davis of Los Angeles, CA (pictured with trophy) captured his first ISAGS Championship, the 2008 Summer Championship at Whistler, Canada, August 16-23 on the Nicklaus North, Whistler GC and Chateau Whistler GC courses. Davis played steady golf all week, but it was his final round 73 at the very difficult Chateau Whistler Course that put the finishing touch on a great week of competition. Davis trailed leader Larry Harrison of Margate, NJ by 8 shots heading into the final round, however an old injury unfortunately resurfaced while playing the 18th hole on Thursday. Harrison was able to limp in and finish the round, however on Friday morning it was apparent there would be no way for him to play the final round and he was forced to withdraw.
Ched Hikes finished at the top of the Age 65+ Championship Division, while Arlene McKitrick once again led the Ladies Championship Division with her outstanding play. The Men’s Stableford Division was won by terrific play from Roy Young, and it was Jim Dudley who took home the top prize among Super Seniors. Congratulations to Mary Davie and Cora Obley who were also tops in their respective Divisions.
