Ched Hikes of Scottsdale, AZ won the ISAGS 2009 Mid-Winter Championship at Wailea Beach in Maui, Hawaii, January 10-17, 2009 on the three spectacular courses of Wailea Golf Club. Hikes opened with a tremendous round of 2-under par 70 on the Gold Course and while he continued his strong play all week, Michael Mahoney and Bob Kulp also made a charge and the three entered the final round tied for the lead. A final round 74 was enough for Hikes to take the title by two strokes over Mahoney.

Wally Marsh of Palm Desert, CA finished at the top of the Age 65+ Championship Division posting four terrific rounds in the 70’s, while Lynne Jones played fantastic golf, leading the Ladies Championship Division with all three of her rounds in the 70’s. The Men’s Stableford Division was won by great play from Mike Hill of Birmingham, AL, and it was John McKitrick of Longboat Key, FL who took home the top prize among Super Seniors. Congratulations to Setsuko Tanaka and Barbara Spiering who were also tops in their respective Divisions.
